When we first met with Teddy and Alyssa from Blackbird Homes, we immediately felt that working with them would be different. They took their time and really listened to us, working within our budget to create a kitchen that is perfect for our family. Alyssa has a beautiful eye for design and took the time to figure out what our style was, suggesting unique touches that make our kitchen feel warm and personal. The elements that Alyssa suggested, from moving the location of the sink to the eye-catching backsplash and trim, are the first things everyone remarks on when they enter our house. Teddy executed Alyssa’s vision with an impeccable eye for detail that created a beautiful and functional final product. Together, they understood the charm of our 1940s Tahoe Park house and were able to modernize it while maintaining its character. 

We are delighted with our kitchen, but just as importantly we are delighted with how smoothly the process went. Throughout, Teddy and Alyssa explained each step, discussed any potential changes with us, and gave us multiple options so we felt like we had agency. Teddy and his crew were on-time, polite, and respectful of our space, minimizing the stress of a remodel on our family and in our small home. They provided us with a detailed online schedule, so we knew what to expect and were communicative when changes were necessary.

It was a true pleasure to work with Teddy and Alyssa. They are genuine, warm, thoughtful, and hardworking. As a small family business, working with them was completely different to the impersonal touch of our previous large contractor, and they were able to do the work to a high standard at a much better price.
